G. Hartzell & Son is a family-owned manufacturer of dental & surgical instruments that was founded by George F. and George O. Hartzell in 1935.  Unlike most instrument companies, we are a true MANUFACTURER of dental instruments.  We produce our products (with 2 “special” exceptions) ONLY in the US or Germany.  Approximately 85% of our production comes from our factory in the East Bay of San Francisco and the balance from Germany.

Through our policy of controlled-growth and our continuous research and development program we have maintained, over the years, extremely high standards of manufacturing excellence.  Yet, we are also extremely innovative.

Hartzell & Son uses only the highest quality components and manufacturing methods backed by a comprehensive quality control program and policy.  These methods have led to our firm’s  recognition for superior quality and our products are utilized by fine dental practitioners throughout the world.

Additionally, unlike our main competitors, we are proud of our talented craftspersons and we are not shifting our production to other countries.  Our dedicated workforce, backed by incredibly advanced production methods (CNC machinery, computerized bending, etc.) create the highest quality dental and surgical instruments available.
